Warehouse Assistant – Central Palatka
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for supporting daily operations in the warehouse. This role involves inventory management, order processing, packing, shipping, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. The Warehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of the warehouse, ensuring timely deliveries, and contributing to a smooth workflow within the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with receiving, sorting, and storing incoming goods. Ensure the proper labeling of goods for easy identification.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocktaking. Conduct regular stock audits and report discrepancies to the Purchasing Officer.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for delivery to customers. Label and prepare packages for shipping, ensuring proper handling and safety measures are followed.
- Verify the accuracy of orders and ensure timely dispatch.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Ensure that goods are stored in appropriate locations to maximize space and ensure easy access.
- Maintain equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools used in the warehouse. Ability to achieve a forklift certification through OSHA, should the use of this type of equipment be required.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the Purchasing Officer.
- Provide support to the Purchasing Officer in other warehouse-related tasks as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) and operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills (for inventory systems and order processing).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, and lift heavy objects.
- Capable of performing physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Typically works in a warehouse setting with exposure to various warehouse equipment, machinery, and physical tasks.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.
- PPE will be provided and must be worn during working hours.
