Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level 1 IT Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to our clients, handling hardware and software issues, and ensuring a high level of customer service. This role involves both on-site visits and remote support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • On-Site Support: Travel to client locations to resolve technical issues, perform system upgrades, and assist with the setting up of new equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, equipment installations, and repairs. Document troubleshooting steps in detailed service tickets.
  • User Training: Provide basic training to users on new systems or software applications.
  • Asset Management: Manage inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Customer Service: Ensure a positive experience for clients, addressing their concerns with patience and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in a field of service capacity.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
    • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Knowledge of antivirus software, Microsoft Office, and other common applications.
    • Experience with troubleshooting hardware (PCs, laptops, peripherals).
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Frequent travel to various client sites within the service area.
