Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Centralized Scheduler coordinates and organizes appointments for new patients to Island Doctors, facilitating the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Optimize patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in an effective manner.
  • Review New Member assignment rosters. Contact the new patients by phone to welcome them to our office and schedule their first appointment.
  • Print and mail a welcome letter and new patient packet to each new patient.
  • Assist patients with questions or refer questions to appropriate person in the office.
  • Perform a post review of previous months reports to contact patients who have not scheduled an appointment yet.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of medical office experience desired
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
